When I was 16, my best friend died on the first day of my Sophomore year of high school. A wise teacher advised me to write down all the emotions and thoughts I felt and started me down the road of writing poems, song lyrics, and journaling. Not everyone is able to express their emotions on paper.
Almost 20 years later, at the encouragement of my friends, I published the written expression of my grief. This book is intended for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one but aren’t able to write about it or express it as they might wish. If this book provides comfort to even one grieving soul, it will have been worth it.
This book is dedicated to my best friend, Myriah Joy Dennis, who died before I was ready to say goodbye. Your memory lives on. May my grief, through this book, help others with their own loss.
